Eva
Makstutis has spent her life exploring how artistic expression shapes
our
understanding and experience of life. She and Patricia Kambitsch formed
their
company, Playthink Learning, to provide opportunities for personal growth
through playful participation in the arts.
Eva has been using her creative workshop ideas inside and outside of the
classroom for 20 years. As former director of creative writing at a school
for the
arts, Eva conducted, invented, and developed curriculum for young writers
in
book arts, fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, script and lyric writing.
Students have actively participated in connecting various art forms to
their
writing.
Eva's passion for language has been a theme throughout her life. After
earning her degree in English Education, Eva found that giving learners
opportunities, tools, and experience in language and the arts only
enhanced their personal growth, inspiration, and performance. She has a
gift for creating simple,
structured programs that invite learners of all ages to grapple with their
fears
as they explore their passion for expression. In a profound way, they
shaped
their experience of life through writing and the arts, giving new meaning,
understanding, and hope in how they see and experience the world around
them.
